Time to learn something new?
Its been a while since I did something constructive on the technical side. I am a software engineer by profession. This is one profession where skillsets need to be constantly upgraded because if you dont, someday someone is going to replace you because, simple because (s)he is better than you are and know the latest technology. With this thought in mind and trying to get away from status quo, I decided I am going to create my own brand-new website from grounds up. This means I decided not to use any automated tool available on the net but if need be, learn something from scratch.
Yes this is going to be a monumental effort and ability to make time from daily work, but I am driving myself.
I am going to build my site using .NET framework technology with ADO and XSLT along with the good old dynamic HTML. Once I get better at it, I will incorporate Flash into my site as well as do some SVG graphing. I intend to create a personal money management website with what I am going to learn.
My current progress I will continue to update on this website, so I will definetly know how much I have acheived.

-Built the first page Start.aspx and realised I need to learn XSLT and therefore purchased a book from B&N for $39.99.
Went through 20 pages and i am finding it interesting enough.
